The Research Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (RIPS) was established in 1964 to discover and disseminate knowledge of natural drug products, develop and commercialize new products, improve public health, and stimulate the economy. Research conducted by RIPS faculty and research scientists helps Mississippi industries to enhance their competitiveness and contribute to the economic development of the state.
