Ikhlas A. Khan – Assistant Director, Director of FDA Program, Research Professor, National Center for Natural Products Research, Research Institute Of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Professor in Pharmacognosy

Dr Khan received his B. S. degree in Chemistry and Biology from the Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh (India) in 1980. He obtained his M. S. in Organic Chemistry in 1982 at the same university. In 1987, he received his Ph.D in Pharmacy under the direction of Prof. H. Wagner at the Institute of Pharmaceutical Biology, Munich ( FRG ). Dr Khan joined the Research Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (RIPS) , University of Mississippi as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in 1988. In 1990 he received a postdoctoral position with the Department of Pharmacy, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich (Switzerland). In 1992, he was appointed as a Research Scientist in RIPS, University of Mississippi. He was appointed as Research Assistant Professor in RIPS and received a joint appointment in the Department of Pharmacognosy in 1995. In 2001, he was promoted to Associate Professor of Pharmacognosy and Research Associate Professor in the National Center for Natural Products. In 2002, he was appointed as a Assistant Director of the National center for Natural products Research. In 2005, he was promoted to Professor of Pharmacognosy and Research Professor in RIPS.
