The Department of Pharmacy Administration offers unique educational opportunities to the students enrolled at The University of Mississippi.
The Department is dedicated to supporting the professional degree program in the School of Pharmacy. The Department offers 1 pre-pharmacy course, 6 required PharmD courses, and 4 electives within the professional degree program. Within the professional degree program, Pharmacy Administration faculty teach Social and Behavioral Aspects of Pharmacy Practice, Introduction to Pharmacy and the Health Care System, Professional Communications in Pharmacy, Pharmacy Law, Pharmacy Management and Business Methods, and Pharmacoeconomics, Pharmacoepidemiology, and Patient Safety.
The Department of Pharmacy Administration offers a M.S. and Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, with an emphasis in Pharmacy Administration. The Department has provided the highest quality graduate education for more than 45 years. While the Department is most notably recognized for its pharmaceutical marketing and management programs, it provides graduate training opportunities in pharmacoeconomics, pharmacoepidemiology, pharmaceutical marketing and management, pharmaceutical policy and outcomes, and social behavioral issues related to pharmacy. Faculty and students are interested in the marketing and outcomes of pharmaceuticals and the role of pharmacists in the delivery and management of health care.
