The Doctor of Pharmacy program at The University of Mississippi is dedicated to enabling students to become well-rounded practitioners, grounded in the knowledge on which to base their practice, and experienced in the development of interpersonal and communication skills that will enhance the sharing of that knowledge with patients and with other health care practitioners.

As comprehensive patient care in today's health care system relies on each member of the health care team working together to accomplish optimal outcomes, the concept of teamwork is emphasized throughout the program.

A strong student organizational support system exists to encourage the development of student leadership on a national and regional level. Community and professional service are likewise emphasized as key to personal development.
